of Conservation Districts Annual Speech Contest
The Osceola Soil and Water
Conservation District would like to invite your students to participate in the
National Association of Conservation Districts Annual Speech Contest.
This contest is designed to develop leadership through participation in
public speaking activities and stimulate interest in conserving our natural
resources, especially as it relates to Agriculture.
The topic for this year is “Conservation
Habits=Healthy Habitats” The contest is open to all public, private and
home schools, grades 6-12.
Each year the contest starts at the local level. Judging for the Osceola County competition will take place at the Osceola County Extension Office located at 1921 Kissimmee Valley Lane in Osceola Heritage Park, Kissimmee, on Monday, May 10, 2010 at 5:30 P.M. Entries may either be mailed or hand delivered to:
Osceola Soil and Water Conservation District, 1921 Kissimmee Valley Lane, Kissimmee, FL 34744. All speeches must be received no later than 5:00 PM Wednesday, May 5, 2010. The first place winner from Osceola County will then advance to the NACD Area Contest May 15, 2010.
