The mission of the Osceola Soil and Water Conservation District (OSWCD) is to provide the administration of programs to conserve soil and improve water quality and quantity on private lands in Osceola County.

Through a partnership with  the United States Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), OSWCD is able to help people conserve, maintain, and improve their natural resources and the environment by providing technical assistance and developing conservation plans.  NRCS has 70+ years of experience in providing technical assistance and conservation planning to private landowners.  The local NRCS staff delivers technical assistance based on sound science and tailored to clients' specific goals and objectives.  Financial assistance is provided to farmers and ranchers who voluntarily address resource concerns such as soil erosion, water quality, water quantity, air quality, and threatened and endangered species management.
